Medical libraries are failing!!! Start-up companies are using 2.0 technologies instead of us. A plethora of social networking sites are coming online to help link patients to support, doctors, and making it easier to make appoints.

I had the pleasure of assisting and co-managing a project by the NLM. Its purpose was to create a single place for consumers to find health facilites by state (Illinois for me). I am very proud of the indexing we have done and happy to report that we have over 9,000 records.

I was deeply saddened when I read the results of a survey conducted by the MLA. In essence, medical librarians are horrible at adopting 2.0 technologies. These technologies can improve the lives of our patients, students, and users.
